Meridian with its knowledge and experience within both the Logical and Physical audit fields has now already completed its first combined audit-another world first for Meridian.

On 18th March 2008, two weeks prior to the combined audit program going live date of 1st April, MasterCard has allowed Meridian special approval to conduct the worlds first combined Logical and Physical security audit in Australia.

Meridian announces that to reflect on the International business that we have performed over the past six years that the company is to change its name to 'Meridian Services International Limited' with effect from 10th March 2008.

Lynda Johnson, Company Director commented. "Although our head office is based in the UK we have found in some cases that by having the (UK) name restricted our markets, as clients thought that we were only operating in this region, which is definitely not the case as we have been operating in most countries of the world for the past six years".

Meridian performed its first synchronised MasterCard Logical Security Audit & ISO27001 certification audit at Axalto Canada Inc.

Meridian Services on behalf of La Sécurité des Technologies de l'Information (LSTI) successfully executed its first ISMS BS7799/IS27001 certification, (formally know as BS7799).

At the end of 2005 Meridian Services is pleased to announce that we have executed in excess of one hundred and thirty (130) logical security audits on behalf of MasterCard clients, and this number is growing month on month.

At the MasterCard Vendor conference in Brussels Mr. Paul Johnson of Meridian presented an update to the Logical Security Programme on behalf of MasterCard.

The Meridian Services support team adapts a new "Managed Service approach" for all services provided by the company. From a clients initial contact with Meridian our dedicated support team manages all communication and information provided to clients, this improves the overall service provided as in there is a single point of contact that can always be contacted by the client as and when required throughout the year. Paul Johnson, Managing Director of Meridian commented, "At Meridian we feel that client support is of the utmost importance as we wish to create a long term relationship with our clients, with the implementation of the 'dedicated support service' we can ensure that the client requests are managed in a more effective manner. To give an example, we like to have communication with our clients not only on an annual basis but throughout the year providing support as and when required. The majority of our auditing assignment are for MasterCard facilities around the world, the requirement from MasterCard is that a renewal audit is to be conducted on an annual basis, our support team manages this annual activity, advising client in a timely manner that a renewal audit is due - usually ten weeks before the previous years anniversary, by doing this we can ensure that our clients receives the best support in their preparation for the audit and remain accredited by MasterCard".

At the Security Masters Conference in San Diego USA, Mr. Paul Johnson of Meridian conducted a Logical Security Workshop for US Vendors advising on logical security issues and concerns facing the payment systems industry.

The relocation has allowed the company more room to expand over the coming years. The office is now away from the city centre, however is still ideally located only 15 minutes away from Manchester International Airport.

Meridian successfully executed the first ever ISMS BS7799 audit in France which was completed on 13 May 2005. Armelle Trotin - President of La Sécurité des Technologies de l'Information (LSTI) made the following statement following Meridian's appointment as BS7799/IS27001 auditors: "Meridian Services is now LSTI approved for conformity assessment. Auditors approved by LSTI are proved to be independent and competent as defined in the international standard IS 19011. LSTI is an independent certification body specialized in IT security: ISMS BS7799/IS27001 certification, certification authorities against TS 101 456 for electronic signature, and trusted third parties according to national rules."

In February 2002 Meridian Services executed the very first MasterCard International Logical Security Audit against the version 1.0 requirements document. Upon completion of the audit Meridian Services (UK) Limited was granted a global license to perform audits on behalf of MasterCard.
